During the Second World War, Americans were repeatedly warned that careless conversation could reveal troop movements, ship sailings, or other information useful to the enemy. Among the best-known reminders was “Loose Lips Might Sink Ships,” a 1942 poster that became part of the wider wartime campaign against careless talk. The phrase quickly outgrew the poster itself, becoming one of the most enduring expressions of home-front vigilance.

Our Loose Lips Sink Ships design takes that warning back to sea: a hard-eyed captain, rough water, and the kind of bold lettering that feels at home on an old wartime poster. It’s a simple maritime reminder that some things are better left unsaid—and that a few careless words can travel farther than you intended.
